Today on the blog, we are getting personal and talking about a cause that is very near to our hearts. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are extremely proud to support this incredible initiative.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month  

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an international campaign that strives to increase awareness and raise funds for research into the disease’s origin, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer within her lifetime. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. Sadly, it is also the second leading cause of cancer death among women.

Spreading Awareness and Conducting Lifesaving Research

During the month of October, major breast cancer charities across the nation organize events to spread awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research. These initiatives include fundraiser walks, runs, fashion shows, and parties. Through these events, organizations, like The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, are able to provide help and inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services.  

Your Fight Is Our Fight  

At  Alpha Prime, we want to do our part and help to contribute to this amazing movement. We are donating 10% of all proceeds throughout the month of October from purchases of our leggings and sports bras, like the Athena Sports Bra, to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is the highest rated breast cancer organization in the United States and it is one of the many major charities that participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This amazing research foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organization that has raised over half a billion dollars since its inception to support clinical research on breast cancer at medical institutions not only in the United States but as well as abroad. We at Alpha Prime want to help to continue the Breast Cancer Research Foundation's lifesaving research efforts by providing funds to help support the nearly 300 scientists and researchers that are currently in six continents and thirteen countries.
